This amazing side table is a collaboration between 4 companies! Design by Anita Lang IMI Design, metal by Gary Slater at Slater Sculpture, glass by Meltdown Glass Art & Design. We were in charge of finding the perfect piece of reclaimed wood (not an easy task) and carefully (!) working the metal into the wood and finishing it. Quite unique!
The wood’s history: This was part of the footers underneath the first mill building that went up at Dan River Mills in Danville, Virginia. It was a massive facility. These beams were underneath the building, and supported the weight of the structure as they were standing vertically. They were originally 8′ long in all old growth white oak. This was the last piece left. You can read more about the mill here.

It truly takes amazing partners to bring out visions to life and that is one reason we love working with Heather & Fred Studios. We can give you a concept and you guys will bring artistic and practical knowledge to the project ensuring it is not only beautiful but functions just the way we imagined.
